TMG x Tatton: From Corner Stand to Centre Stage The evolution of TMG Specialist Vans at the UK’s biggest VW event It’s mad how fast things can change when you're obsessed with doing things properly.
Just three years ago, we turned up to Tatton Park VW Show with a couple of vans, no hype, and a 3x3m stand tucked away in the corner. No flags, no big displays, no PR team — just our builds and belief in what we were doing. The aim? To prove that nobody does VW Caddys like we do.
🔹 Year 1: The Corner Hustle We were the underdogs. Low foot traffic, small stand, but big ambition. People came over out of curiosity, stayed because the quality spoke for itself. It was raw, it was early days, but the seeds were planted. Even then, we knew we weren’t here to take part — we were here to take over.
🔹 Year 2: The 1 of 1 That Broke the Internet Fast-forward 12 months, and we dropped a one-of-one Caddy build that shook the scene. Every detail was custom — interior, exterior, wheels, lighting, styling, everything. It wasn’t built to “look nice” — it was built to stand alone. That van racked up over 8 million views online. It got shared by the biggest pages in the automotive scene. DMs went crazy. Brands started watching. Other builders started copying. The difference? We weren’t following trends — we were setting them.
🔹 Year 3: The Takeover By year three, even Tatton themselves took notice. They handed us one of the biggest, most visible plots — right at the show entrance. No more corner setups. No more proving ourselves. We’d arrived. This year, we brought something different. We only brought two of our own stock vans — the rest of the display was made up of nine customer vans. That’s right: nine separate TMG-built vans from real customers, coming from across the UK and Ireland just to stand with us. That alone says everything about the loyalty, quality and impact of the TMG brand.
We also unveiled: The “1 of 1 V2” — the next evolution of the viral build that made us a household name in the Caddy world
Our RS3-powered Caddy — a brutal, performance-driven sleeper that dropped jaws and left people speechless. It’s not every day you see an RS3 swap done cleanly — and in a van? That’s TMG level.
Crowds gathered before the gates even opened. We had queues all day. And once again — everyone else was watching. 🏆 Built Different. Built by TMG.
This journey wasn’t handed to us. No sponsors, no gimmicks, no shortcuts. Every bit of growth came from hard graft, clean builds, and a refusal to do anything half-hearted. While others chase clout and copy parts lists, we’re still doing what we’ve done since day one — leading the scene, not blending into it.
Tatton was never the goal — it was just another stop on the way up. And trust us — next year we’ll raise the bar again.
